GelaSkins’ iPad 2 Skin, a review

GelaSkins is one of our better friends in this industry, and for good reason; GelaSkins creates one of, if not the best, protective skins for electronics in this industry. And by skin, I am referring to vinyl decals as opposed to a clear protector like that of Zagg. Recently, with the launch of the iPad 2, GelaSkins released its lineup of iPad 2 skins featuring artwork from some of the biggest artists around including eBoy, Brian Despain, and Katsushika Hokusai; I had the chance to get my hands on a decal.

The process of getting a Gelaskin begins with a rather tough decision; there are hundreds among hundreds of pieces of artwork in the GelaSkins gallery, and I had to choose one. Well sure, I could have gotten multiple, but removing and reapplying different skins didn’t seem all that practical. Of course, at the same time, I had the option of creating my own skin with the aid of GelaSkins’ online tool, but I wasn’t, and still remain an artist with the skills of a two-year-old. Review: Gelaskins for iPad

People love protecting their investment, especially if it is an Apple product, which in most cases will result in an over abundance of protection. Personally, I love the feel of an Apple product with no case at all.  It just feels more natural – which in my opinion is better than the feel of most cases. There is one issue that arises when using a naked iPhone or a naked iPad, and that is protection.  Without a case, your device is vulnerable to scratches and bruises.
