Given the choice between form and function, I generally choose function unless the case is extreme. I have used quite a few printers since the beginning of the year. I tried out two of HP’s top models: the OfficeJet 8500 and the Photosmart Premium Fax. There were things that I really liked about each of these printers, hence why I decided to try them. But in the end, I needed increased functionality over form. Fortunately, after finally selling my Photosmart Premium Fax in a huff of disappointment, Brother agreed to let me try one of their most popular color laser all-in-ones. The new segment can be found at http://news.themacfeed.com, or by clicking “news” on our navigation bar, and contains all of the interesting, exciting, and unique tidbits of news that we just couldn’t manage to fit on our main page.
We hope this will satisfy your need for more industry-related news, while keeping our main page full of reviews, opinions, stories and project reports relating to the Mac industry. In short, we feel that this move establishes a return to the spirit of TheMacFeed manifest on our main page without depriving you, the readers, of the full range of news and information that many of you have come to look forward to and enjoy.

iFixIt got their hands on a Magic Trackpad, and did what we all wanted them to. According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple is investigating why the iOS 4 doesn’t play so well on the iPhone 3G. A day after a class action suit was filed regarding the iPads, Japan’s industry minister decided to complain about the old iPod nano fire issues. Thinking about adding a second drive to your 27″ iMac like Apple did? It’s not so easy. Apple sold more phones than Motorola, again. A new job listing for Mac OS X 10.7 seems to hint at it being “revolutionary” – hmm… The most interesting news of the day, Apple ditched Google and Skyhook and is now using its own location service.
Steve Ballmer isn’t so happy with the three million iPads Apple has sold. It’s not the first time, but seems AOL screen names aren’t working with iTunes. In patent news… There was a bunch of handheld accelerometer related filings. Then there was patents about 3D portable devices. Also, more info regarding iTravel emerged. Apple also is looking into a fashion app?
