Just recently, I have been in the mood for a simple game for the iPhone that looks as if a 4 year old designed it. To my surprise there are hundreds of apps like that for the iPhone. In the mess of all these apps, I found Doodle Jump, it fits my requirement of looking like an app that was made with crayons and colored pencils, and it also has a very familiar type of gameplay. In-fact, the similarities between Papi Jump Doodle Jump and are so close, I would bet that they are long lost cousins.

Gameplay
The gameplay is quite simple, you are a deformed anteater (that can shoot balls from your nose) with some mad hops and your goal is to jump cliff to cliff trying to get as high as you can before you either miss a cliff and fall or if you get knocked off by one of the monsters that’s sole purpose is to stop you. In addition, there are power-ups that allow you to jump higher, have protection, or even fly wickedly fast for a few seconds. The goal is simple, get as high as you can (which increases your score) to try an beat either your friends or the global leader-board.
Gametypes
At the moment, there are only two game modes in Doodle Jump; Full and Classic. Full has no powerups, (basically PapiJump) you simply jump cliff to cliff with no distractions with the goal of getting as high as you can. Classic has the powerups and enemies, this is the one I prefer.

Addictive? Yes.
In all honesty, this game is very addictive. I possibly could be stuck playing this for an hour or two. I do see this as a fantastic app to waist time in airports, airplanes, or even a long car trip (passengers only). To make this game even better, there are updates released often that bring new maps, features, and enemies.
Conclusion
I found that Doodle Jump, at the price of $0.99, is one of the best deals in the App store. It is insanely addictive, updated often, and overall stunning. Earlier, I compared this game to Papi Jump, though I do not know which was created first, I do have to say that Doodle Jump is by far the better of the two.
Doodle Jump is available for $0.99 from the App store located here.
