Review: Just Mobile® Xtand for iPhone (Jessica’s Point of View)

Just Mobile® XtandOne of the many changes the iPhone has brought to the cell phone market is this incredible line of accessories. It is easy to say that a stand is a fairly useless accessory as it provides no power to the iPhone itself. I’d like to think that the stand is a useful accessory for those who simply do not need a powered dock or those who perhaps take their iPhone other places than just there house.  For me, a stand is the perfect bedside table accessory which also happens to be the place where I normally charge my iPhone with a simple wall charger.

Just Mobile’sXtand stood out to me because it was one of the few that complimented the base of the iMac and Apple Cinema Display line. It did not have a bulky appearance that other stands have.  Another selling point is that the Xtand allowed for both height, angle (albeit small) and rotation adjustment.

IMG_2269Just Mobile took time in the design from the rubber feet on the bottom to protect your precious surfaces to the rubber corners that ultimately hold your phone. Though the iPhone is a nice snug fit allowing you to rotate the phone without worry of it falling out, there is no struggle to remove the phone.

The Xtand is a powerless and while at least one other review found that the wireless and cell signal had a marginal drop in strength, after a day using the stand I did not note any such issue with any signals.

The downside to the Xtand is the price. The original price was $50 retail, but you can find it for around $40 USD; the price usually exceeding the price of a charging dock. However, as novel as it may be if you are an accessory fanatic like I am this is just the accessory you would want to pick up.
