Do you like it? I do! This is the Xtand, designed and created by Just Mobile. First impressions of this product are that it is sleek, well designed and built for just Apple. The Xtand comes shipped in a box a little bit bigger than the size of the Apple iPhone box. Nothing too fancy but not too boring. Quite frankly there isn’t too much to this “stand”. There are no ports or AC connections. It’s just a “holder” for your iPhone. Albeit a very nice one.
The Xtand is made from solid aluminum and looks similar to the iMac and fits the image of Apple.
Opening the box, you’re presented with the X of the stand. The stand is obviously X shaped with four rubbers on each corner, for protecting the corners of your iPhone or iPod Touch of getting scratched.
Inside there is no documentations or any instructions to read. Printed on the bottom of the box is two simple diagrams on how to put the stand together, which doesn’t take 2 minutes to do.
Holding the base of the stand and the X holder is two washers, a bolt and a screw. This makes it very simple to assemble and disassemble.
It’s lighter in weight than I thought it would be. The four rubber corners that hold the iPhone in place are grippy rubber and not the soft touch or hard rubber so the iPhone stays in nice and tight. But not too tight, just right. The rubber pieces can be easily pulled off if you intentionally did so but I didn’t have any problem with them coming off when I pulled out my iPhone. The four rubber grips are slipped on top of a continuing piece of aluminum that is curved at the end so the whole piece is seamless. There is definitely some quality here.
Bolt
You can in fact swivel your iPhone 360 degrees and it is level enough for the OS to rotate, but as you do so it will either loosen or tighten the screw depending on which way you twist it. But if you tighten the screw to a good point then only swivel it 90 degrees either way you shouldn’t have a problem. You can also adjust the angle of the stand to a lower or higher height by loosening the screw then raising or lowering your iPhone.
