Review: Dropzone “The Ultimate drag and drop experience”

Created by Aptonic Software, Dropzone is claimed to be “The swiss army knife of drag and drop for the mac.”

Picture 3

This is a very small application with helpful features from fliker upload to an easy way to copy an application into your application folder.

What you can upload to:

  • Zip & Email
  • Share Text
  • Install application
  • kttns Upload (downloaded)
  • Applications
  • Folders
  • Flickr Upload
  • FTP Upload
  • Open Application
  • And much more from both the internet and on the application itself

Interface:

Dropzone’s look and design are great! It has a very easy to use interface to turn on more ‘Destinations’ and it gives you a very simple icon menu that allows you to drag a folder/application/picture/etc. to the icon to open a menu. From there you choose where to upload.

Our Tests:

When we were testing this application it worked flawlessly. We put a picture up on Flickr, installed an application, and uploaded a slideshow to an email with no lag.

Price:

This application has a very reasonable price tag of $10.00 and I would not expect it to be lower. This price is amazing for how many features you are getting.

Conclusion:

This is a great application! There are no big cons that we noticed, and it is the best Drag and Drop out there… yet it is still not perfect. This application could use an icon up on the top bar that is for preferences and settings (now preferences and settings are accessed by holding down the icon until the menu opens up, from there you choose preferences). We still fully recommend it. We give Dropzone a 4.5/5
