Apple iPhone 3GS Benchmark Results

Medialets shows the iPhone 3G S blows the competition away on their benchmark Test Suite. The iPhone 3G S completes it in 16.5 seconds compared to the Palm Pre’s 48.6 seconds. Googles G1 toped a minute and a half with 91.1 seconds. This also shows the substantial increase of the 3G S compared to the 3G.

Also in their test they showed the 3G running 2.2.1 clocking in at 132.3 seconds, and the 3G running 3.0 coming in at 48.7 only .1 second behind the Palm Pre. The Chart with all the information follows:

With these results, it is clear, the iPhone 3G S is the top phone on the market.

Apple sells over 1million iPhone 3G S models

Within the first 3days, Apple has sold over 1million iPhone 3G S models, this isn’t as high as previous releases, but with the economy, and AT&T’s prices($200 fee), this is a very good result.

“Customers are voting and the iPhone is winning,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “With over 50,000 applications available from Apple’s revolutionary App Store, iPhone momentum is stronger than ever.”

Under the Hood & Glitches With iPhone 3G S

Within 24 hours of the release of the new iPhone 3G S, there is already people taking their new device apart. “The construction of it is almost exactly the same as the iPhone 3G, so it feels the same in your hands.” says Aaron Vronko, co-founder of Rapid Repair. “But more than half of the actual components inside the phone have been tweaked or changed.”

Steve Jobs Had Liver Transplant

The Wall Street Journal announced earlier, Steve Jobs who has been on medical leave since January to treat his ”undisclosed medical condition”. Jobs had received a liver transplant 2 months ago in Tennessee.  He has been recovering well and is scheduled to return later this month. “Steve continues to look forward to returning at the end of June, and there’s nothing further to say,” said Apple spokeswoman Katie Cotton.

iPhone 3G S: Special Update

As you all know, the iPhone 3G S was released today. There have been some issues with the system including:

  1. Activation Delays
  2. Smaller than normal crowds

Speed: “the new model proved dramatically snappier in every way than my iPhone 3G” ”Applications opened much more quickly. Web pages loaded far faster. The camera was ready to use almost instantly” ”Cellular-data speeds were about the same”

Battery: “On my 3G iPhone, I usually could make it through the day, but it was often a close call, with the battery indicator winding up in the red. By contrast, the new model did much better, never hitting the red zone”

Camera: “It still lacks zoom or a flash, though it does better in low light. It also has a macro feature for close-up shots. In my tests, all of this worked, but I didn’t think the pictures it took were dramatically better than those on the old model”

Compass:  ”I don’t consider this important for most users, but it did work when I was walking or driving”
